As part of a multimedia offer, alongside Radio and Online, the service recently launched BBC Arabic TV. The channel currently broadcasts for 12 hours a day and will be expanding to 24 hours a day this autumn.

We\'re looking for a talented Arabic-speaking publicist to help raise our profile in the Middle East and North Africa. You\'ll provide strategic and operational PR support to promote BBC Arabic by generating a range of publicity opportunities across key markets.

Working closely with the language services\' editorial and business development teams, you\'ll ensure that all PR opportunities are maximised. Your focus will be on developing publicity opportunities for news output, selected programmes and channel presenters. You’ll also be required to respond rapidly to press inquiries both in the UK and abroad.

You\'ll have excellent Arabic language skills (both spoken and written) with strong publicist/press office experience at a senior level. It\'s essential that you\'re able to build and manage effective relationships quickly with a wide variety of people.

You\'ll have experience of press material writing and editing as well as experience of managing media interviews, press conferences and events. Knowledge of BBC World Service and the ability to relate to a multi-cultural workforce is vital.

Philips UK consists of three sectors. The Webmaster role is part of the cross sector team (the Cluster Internet Manager team) that champions the end user experience and online brand on all Philips sites and intranets.

The webmaster needs to execute regular technical / content activities as well as generate analytics and satisfaction reports on all sites and intranets, as well as timely deal with adhoc content change requests, while running additional local projects to improve the intranet/internet presence within the Country Internet Manager's team.

Characteristics of the webmaster job
This is a technical / content management role. The webmaster will report to the Cluster Internet Manager with responsibilities that focuses on UK but could cover South Africa and Ireland.

Responsibilities include development of the country Intranet, as well as managing all technical aspects of the Internet presence. The time split will be roughly 70% intranet, 30% internet.

Close liaison with the local sectors, and global technical teams is an important feature of the job and require good time management, and influential skills.

Technical project management aspects
1. Champion all technical and content aspects of web and intranet projects
2. Support Country Internet Manager in strategic decisions related to web and intranet
3. Manage adhoc technical requests / queries related to intranet and internet websites,
4. Leases with central teams to generate content, deploy SEO activity and analytics tools.
5. Build and grow relationships with the appropriate central and local teams
6. Raise and resolve content and technical problems with stakeholders.

Content/operational aspects:
1. Own the intranet project on a country level

We are now seeking an experienced secretary/ administrative assistant.
She will be working with the top management staff from Egypt and Austria. She has to have an excellent understanding of latest IT technologies; she will participated in office management activities.

This position will be based in our Cairo office


Job Description

• Prepares and writes routine correspondence dealing with subject matter using discretion and judgment, replying to individuals presenting or requesting information.

• Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and works cooperatively with staff to provide quality services to management, employees, customers, and business partners.

• Oversees the establishment and maintenance of office procedures.

• Accurately prepares state and district reports from raw data, which includes generating charts and graphs on the computer.

• Makes personnel decisions as they relate to the company receptionist and custodian.

• Additional duties as assigned.



Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
• Perfect English language skills (read, write and conversation)
• German Language skills is highly considered and preferable
• 1 or more years of related experience
• Can prioritize multiple tasks, work effectively under stress, meet short deadlines and take direction.
• Ability to work effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast changing environment
• Creative problem solving skills
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from administrators, staff and the general public consistent with the duties of this position.
