Webmaster for a UK multinational

Philips UK consists of three sectors. The Webmaster role is part of the cross sector team (the Cluster Internet Manager team) that champions the end user experience and online brand on all Philips sites and intranets.

The webmaster needs to execute regular technical / content activities as well as generate analytics and satisfaction reports on all sites and intranets, as well as timely deal with adhoc content change requests, while running additional local projects to improve the intranet/internet presence within the Country Internet Manager's team.

Characteristics of the webmaster job
This is a technical / content management role. The webmaster will report to the Cluster Internet Manager with responsibilities that focuses on UK but could cover South Africa and Ireland.

Responsibilities include development of the country Intranet, as well as managing all technical aspects of the Internet presence. The time split will be roughly 70% intranet, 30% internet.

Close liaison with the local sectors, and global technical teams is an important feature of the job and require good time management, and influential skills.

Technical project management aspects
1. Champion all technical and content aspects of web and intranet projects
2. Support Country Internet Manager in strategic decisions related to web and intranet
3. Manage adhoc technical requests / queries related to intranet and internet websites,
4. Leases with central teams to generate content, deploy SEO activity and analytics tools.
5. Build and grow relationships with the appropriate central and local teams
6. Raise and resolve content and technical problems with stakeholders.

Content/operational aspects:
1. Own the intranet project on a country level
2. Define and prioritize local intranet requirements
3. Develop intranet strategies with the country internet manager

Highly desired in the candidate:
1. Strong web content background, SEO for Google is highly desired.
2. Experience with web analytics platforms (Omniture, webtrends, Google analytics, hit wise)
3. Strong time management skills, able to prioritize own time and deliverables is essential.
4. Content creation and publishing lifecycles for web and intranet.
5. Background in working within a multinational matrix organization or agency
6. Able to work and deliver on different tasks simultaneously
7. Strong influential skills
8. Strong internet/intranet technical background
9. Good project management skills
10. Self motivated individual
11. Familiarity with Web 2.0 trends.

1. Fully assess and monitor local sites to ensure consistent tracking and adherence to corporate guidelines.
2. Regularly monitoring and reporting on websites to ensure they meet the highest standards
3. Continuously seek preventative measures to meet SLA guidelines.
4. Own the intranet update cycle.
5. Weekly report on sites and intranets performances
