Petroleum Engineering Jobs

MBS is looking for :
(1) Draughtsman
(2) Pipeline engineers
(3) Senior engineer

(1) Draughtsman Job Description:

The Draughtsman will work in a small team of experienced pipeline and structural engineers and will receive guidance in subsea pipeline design and engineering.

The Draughtsman will carry out the following tasks under supervision of engineers / Project Managers

• Use Autocad software to develop and optimize pipeline, flexibles and umbilical routes based on
design and installation constraints
• Produce field layouts and pipeline alignment sheets
• Produce drawings of pipeline components such as anodes, buckle arrestors, coatings etc.
• Produce drawings of structural components such as subsea protection structures, manifolds, jacket clamps etc..

Required Qualifications:

The suitable candidate for the position as Draughtsman would have:

• Ideally a qualification in an Engineering related subject
• Be fluent in English both spoken and written
• Have some previous work experience in the draughting field
• Have a good knowledge of the Autocad draughting software
• Be able to work comfortably in a team environment and have good communication skills
• Have knowledge of using a PC and a fundamental knowledge of the Microsoft office suite

(2) Pipeline engineers Job Description:

The engineer will work in a small team of experienced pipeline engineers and will receive guidance in subsea pipeline design and engineering. He will receive training in analysis and calculation of the various aspects of subsea pipeline design.

The engineer will carry out the following tasks under supervision of senior engineers:

• Design of pipe material and wall thickness
• Specification of corrosion coatings
• Calculation of protection against corrosion to the pipe wall
• Calculation of protection of the pipeline against interaction from dropped objects, fishing gear impact, boat impact and anchors
• Calculation of pipeline stability, allowable lengths of free-spans and pipeline stresses that occur along the pipeline due to the rough seabed conditions
• Analysis of the effects on the pipeline of high temperature and high pressure operating conditions of the pipeline contents
• Calculations of the installation deformations and stresses in the pipeline when they are installed from special vessels.
• Suitable candidates who show during the training an aptitude and capability of analysis will have the opportunity to receive training in advanced analysis of the non-linear deformations of pipelines

Required Qualifications:

The suitable candidate for the position as Design Engineer would have:

• A Degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering, ideally at a high level
• He should have undertaken courses in structural engineering and/or structural mechanics during the degree work
• Be fluent in English both spoken and written
• Be able to work comfortably in a team environment and have good communication skills
• Have knowledge of using a PC and a fundamental knowledge of the Microsoft office suite

(3) Senior engineer Job Description:

The senior engineer will work in a small team of experienced pipeline engineers and will receive
guidance in subsea pipeline design and engineering as necessary. He will receive training as required in analysis and calculation of the various aspects of subsea pipeline design.

The engineer will carry out the following tasks under supervision of Lead engineers / Project Managers, and will be expected to supervise and co-ordinate one or more Design Engineers.

• Design of pipe material and wall thickness
• Specification of corrosion coatings
• Calculation of protection against corrosion to the pipe wall
• Calculation of protection of the pipeline against interaction from dropped objects, fishing gear impact, boat impact and anchors
• Calculation of pipeline stability, allowable lengths of free-spans and pipeline stresses that occur along the pipeline due to the rough seabed conditions
• Analysis of the effects on the pipeline of high temperature and high pressure operating conditions of the pipeline contents
• Calculations of the installation deformations and stresses in the pipeline when they are installed from special vessels.

Required Qualifications:

The suitable candidate for the position as Senior Design Engineer would have:

• A Degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering, ideally at a high level
• Have 2-5 years experience in an engineering field, ideally related to offshore oil & gas activities.
• He should have undertaken courses in structural engineering and/or structural mechanics during the degree work
• Be fluent in English both spoken and written
• Be able to work comfortably in a team environment and have good communication skills
• Have knowledge of using a PC and a fundamental knowledge of the Microsoft office suite
